BY HAZEL REID There is a lot to get amongst this summer season! Here are a few of our event highlights for December 2022 and January 2023. Clinton Kane

Australian-born, US-based artist Clinton Kane is bringing his show to NZ this month for the first time. Clinton, who music fans will know for his soulful tunes like I Guess I’m In Love and Chicken Tendies, jets into town to play Auckland’s Powerstation this Friday (9th) – tickets are available from Ticketmaster.

Remi Wolf

Californian musician Remi Wolf will kick the year off the right way, with a tour down under! After hitting Australia, Remi will jump across to NZ for her first live shows here! You can catch Remi at Auckland’s Powerstation on the 10th before she wraps up her trip in Wellington on the 11th, and it looks like she’s excited to see us – “I’ve been counting down the days until we get to hang… let’s dance and have the best time ever!” Grab your tickets to Auckland quicksmart (as Wellington’s already full!)

Daniel Howell Tour

British comedian and content creator Daniel Howell, who has amassed a following of millions online will bring his We’re All Doomed! show to NZ in 2023. Ahead of his upcoming visit, Daniel shared “I cannot wait to hit the road again and make everyone laugh until they cry, or maybe the other way around”. Catch Daniel this January in Christchurch on the 25th, in Wellington on the 26th and in Auckland on the 28th. Read the full tour and ticketing information here.

Armageddon Expo

After holding their Wellington Expo last weekend, which featured the first in-person line-up post-borders opening, the Armageddon team will roll into Christchurch’s newly-opened convention venue Te Pae this weekend. It’s set to be full of Armageddon’s signature fun with gaming, cosplay, anime, contests and more on offer. They’ll also host a number of celebrity guests including House of Dragon’s Graham McTavish and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ Summer Glau. Tickets are available from iTicket.

Marlon Williams

Following the release of his new album, My Boy, Marlon Williams will take his new tour on the road this summer – stopping in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Marlon’s long-time bandmates The Yarra Benders will join him on this special tour, playing theatre venues and performing his new record live. Grab your tickets for one of the shows here.

Kehlani

Multi-platinum singer Kehlani will make a NZ stop on their Blue Water Road Trip World Tour this January. I remember seeing Kehlani when she opened up for Halsey in 2018 and she just commanded the stage with such power and grace and the crowd loved it – can’t wait to see what Kehlani brings to Spark Arena’s stage on this tour (on the 20th)! Grab your tickets from Ticketmaster.

Soundsplash 2023

It wouldn’t be a Kiwi summer without a number of great music festivals and the good news is Soundsplash is back, and it’s returning to Raglan’s Wainui Reserve. Catch the likes of Ocean Alley, Macky Gee, Luude, Jordan Rakei, Christabel, Benjamin Mack, Leaping Tiger, Vikae & Waja and Prinz across the weekend (January 20th to 22nd). Check out their website for all the deets!

Underscore Release Show

Local bands Silcrow and Anoxic will join Underscore at Auckland’s Ding Dong lounge this Friday (9th) to celebrate the release of their new double single Tell Me and Out of Time. Tickets are available from the venue (R18).
